Our 4th day of vacation was a city day in Seattle before heading to Mount Rainier National Park on the night of 8/14. We decided to camp at White River Campground near Sunrise and stay there for our last 3 nights.
On 8/15, our 5th day, we spent the morning over at the Paradise Visitor Center in Mount Rainier National Park. There was too much cloud cover to attempt our desired hike up to Camp Muir. We walked a short ways up the trail to look at the interesting clouds, but then had lunch and headed to a lower elevation to hike to Snow Lake.
After our hike at Snow Lake (about 5 miles roundtrip), we drove back towards Sunrise and stopped at the Grove of the Patriarchs, a giant tree grove, and walked the 1.5 mile nature trail trough the trees.
